Description: Very nice mixed group of 18 vintage and antique mother of pearl shell MOP sewing buttons (includes 1 set of 2 smoky oyster shell buttons). ALL have oversized sew through holes. There are several sets (including one excellent set of 2 size large coat buttons) and also some singles. Often referred to as ribbon buttons as ribbons threaded through the exaggerated holes were used as fasteners. The smallest buttons may actually have been old panty waist underwear buttons. - Buttons sizes range from just under 1/2 inch to just over 1-7/16 inch (12mm to 37mm), two hole sew through- Good condition as shown.
