Description: 1880-S Morgan dollar, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as MS-64. The Morgan dollars minted early in the run of the especially polished, "basined" dies are beautiful with their mirrored contrasts the fields reflect back; such is offered here, but it just missed its "prooflike" grade designation, so it is unofficial, semi-prooflike. This coin is an exceptional specimen for the grade. The coin has a magnificent wagon-wheel and mirrored lustre and only few, shallow bag marks in the fields, just enough to keep it off the next grade up. This is a fitting candidate for the discerning collector who desires this date and mint mark of the grand Morgan Dollar in Mint State, and loves to view reflections off his dollar specimens!
