Description: Here we have a gorgeous Victorian Spode Copeland (England) creamware polychrome (over brown) transferware dinner plate in the Delft pattern featuring Dolwyddelan Castle. (This plate is actually mismarked on the back as "Valle Crusis Abbey," when it is clearly "Dolwyddelan Castle." More confusion arises in that the Spode Tower pattern is, if not exactly the same as Delft, very nearly like it.) Pattern number 3993. Scalloped, heavily embossed gadroon edge. We have another one of these, as well as lots of other fabulous transferware, in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. Vintage: impressed stamp on back indicates 1904 Approximate extreme measurements: 10.5" diameterCondition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. Clean, bright, and colorful piece that displays very nicely. Small impact point on the front -- the very small light brown point at the top of the "sky." Scattered very light and completely colorless scratches to the glaze, the kind that can be seen when the piece is held up at just the right angle up to a bright source of light. No chips, cracks, silver/gray utensil marks, stains, crazing or deep scratches. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us. The Fine Print: We expect payment within 1 day of purchase. If you're waiting for other auctions to end so that you can combine shipping, shoot us a message to let us know.If you're unable to pay within terms, please reach out with your Plan B. Things happen. Especially these days. So just shoot us a message. We don't accept buyer-remorse returns but we will grant you the use of our description and photos so that you can re-ebay the item yourself.Although we don't accept buyer-remorse returns, reach out if you're unhappy with your purchase! If we messed up -- everybody does -- give us a chance to fix it. We promise it was unintentional, and we'll do what we can to make it right.
