Description: Please feel free to contact us for custom orders. Old Growth, Reclaimed, Rare, Tidewater Red Sinker Cypress hand made in the USA. Vintage, Industrial look. Unique Statement Piece for any Dcor. We have been responsibly recovering and milling logs for over 40 year from Lake Maurepas, Louisiana. The same lake made famous by Shelby Stanga of the History Channels Axe Men, first discovered in 1699 by Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville. The piece has lots figure. It will turn warm orange-walnut brown when coated. This rare unique wood has tight grain and warm rich color. You wont find another like it. Sinker cypress is by far MUCH harder to recover than anything on land. You can't pull up a truck or forklift and start loading it up. Our winch boat is the biggest around - specially designed for the big ones! It also helps us get the old ones too that are buried deep in the sediments...like digging back in time. Our logs grew from an ancient time when forests were THICK and trees grew close together. That is why the grain is so tight. All lovingly handmade here in the USA by local artist. Listing is for six slices. Each slice is about 65" long. The slabs is about 6 1/2" wide at its widest. Each slice is about 3/8" - 1/2" thick at its thickest. Lots of character with cracks & worm holes. Kiln dried, unfinished and sanded on one side to 120 grit. Carbon dated to 1300 - 1380 A.D. - about 540 years ago when it died. A carbon dated report will be included in package. We can ship for free to the lower 48 only. Thank you for your understanding. Please feel free to contact us for custom orders.
