Description: FROM THE ESTATE OF A LONG TIME POCKET WATCH COLLECTOR.A beautiful antique size 16s Illinois Watch Co. "Bunn Special" Railroad Grade pocket watch. Watch Grade is Bunn Special, Model 9 w/21 jewel, lever set movement with red ruby jewels. This watch has a 3/4 plate, open face, double roller movement with damaskeened ray pattern nickel finish. Movement has a Breguet hairspring and Reed regulator. The watch adjusts to temperature and six positions. This watch has a very clean, bright white double-sunk dial, with a second hand register and bold, black Arabic numerals and is marked "Illinois". There is one hairline to the right of numeral 4. Spade and Whip hands have a deep purple finish. The watch was manufactured circa 1922 with movement Serial Number: 4006574. The movement appears immaculate; watch winds and sets easily and keeps very good time. Watch is encased in a Dueber Watch Case Co. Warranted 20 Years Gold Filled screw back and bezel case (Serial number: 11032123). Case back is die engraved featuring a 2 story dwelling surrounded by floral border. Case is extremely nice with no dents and minimal scratches. It is evident that this watch was well cared for. Acrylic watch crystal has an internal crack along edge from numeral 2 down below the 3 (see pictures). Watch measures 49mm in diameter X 64 mm long (at bow) X 12.8 mm thick (crystal included). This very nice antique Illinois "Bunn Special" Railroad Watch is in excellent condition, with many years of trouble-free service remaining.
