Description: Replaced body and hands. Head is excellent, free of damage or repairs, two small paint blemishes on the back of head, perhaps a kiln issue, set blue eyes. Gown is of a soft cotton with trim at the neck, bottom hem and wrists. Cloth body appears to be a replacement. Porcelain hands good, all fingers accounted for. Marked on the back of head "Germany 1925 2/0 or 210" This number is attributed to Kestner by Jean Bach in Dictionary of Marks, p 70, published in 1990. Kestner copied a number of dolls including kewpies and bye lo type dolls staring in 1925 for Butler Brothers Department Stores as they did for other companies. Questions welcome.
