Description: This is a large, genuine cherry amber bakelite bead necklace/prayer beads, that graduate larger towards the center. They measure from . 5" up to the largest bead which is 1" long. They are carved, barrel beads that are rounded on the ends. Each bead was strung on a cloth cord/strand which had broken but was re-tied leaving 4 loose .5" beads. These are in otherwise perfect condition and ready to be permanently restrung. There are 35 beads total and weighed 62.2 grams. Exact age and era are approximate but does date prior to 1940's. I'm not entirely sure if these are Faturan, Middle Eastern, African, Islamic, etc. Beads were tested and confirmed genuine Bakelite with heat test, light test and finally conclusively tested and confirmed with Simichrome polish. Amazing collectible piece in excellent condition. Open to offers.
