Description: RARE CIRCA 1885 "NATIONAL LIBERTY INSURANCE COMPANY OF AMERICA" FULL COLORTIN SIGN On offer is a rare circa 1880's "NATIONAL LIBERTY INSURANCE COMPANY OF AMERICA" tin sign. Its HEAD OFFICE is stated as being at located 62 WILLIAM STREET - NEW YORK. This advertising piece measures 14" x 19 1/2" and is set into a modern 15" x 20 5/8" oak frame with wood backing board. This rare sign exudes the epitomy of America patriotism of the day with a close resemblance to the Statue of Liberty. Near the Liberty Lady's wreath the sign incidentally states that the company was founded in and "Incorporated 1859" This sign was part of a small collection of insurance company signs from an very old insurance agent from Pennsylvania who recently died. This sign has a very dark GREEN background color and other aspects have general darkness along with some minor assorted wrinkles. Wear, metal wrinkles and some minor rust spots near lower right corner and other minor aberrations consistent with age and use but displays nicely.
