Description: "When we first started digging for bottles in the old dump, if the bottle we found was a good one we would shout “it’s a corker!”. It can mean many things to a bottle collector”. In the early days of Bottle Collecting we had no organization and everything was word of mouth. We all wanted more guidance that would tell us what we had found. Some collectors in the states decided to write their own guidebooks. This one is so cool! It was published in Texas in 1968 and contains listings and photos in the major bottle categories of the day. I know as a collector I would have used this as a bible and check off all of the ones I found. If you have a bottle room, you need these publications as an interesting “go with” to show how it has all changed and how your now $200 bottle was originally listed at $5. This book is “IT’S A CORKER” by Art and Jewel Umberger. It is the revised 1968 edition published in Tyler, Texas. It is 8 ¼” x 5 ¼” and 60 pages. The cover is nicely intact with some slight coloring from being handled and a smudge or stain at the top. The pages have yellowed slightly due to age but it remains a nice publication from when bottle collecting was new and so exciting!
