Corral Few could argue for a more recognizable title from the Old West, nor could any town be more linked to the romance of the West than this one. Tombstone is steeped in Western lore, and the several movies done concerning the gunfight at the O.K. Corral have kept this town in popular culture. This issue was printed exactly 3 months prior to the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral. This issue even has mention of the Earps, with a page 3 legal notice for a mining claim beginning: "United States Land Office...Notice is hereby given that Robert J. Winders for himself and his co-claimants, Virgil W. Earp, Wyatt [misspelled at Eyatt] S. Earp, and James C. Earp, whose post office address is Tombstone, Cochise county..." with more. This notice is followed by 5 separate "Sheriff's Sale" notices, each signed in type by the famous sheriff: J. H. Behan, Sheriff. There is other good and typically Western content as would be expected to be found in this wild mining town of the Old West. Complete in 4 pages, various archival mends & reinforcement at the margins & some into text but causing no loss of readability, lightly toned throughout, archivally rejoined at the spine.
