This set of three “Mobile” by Shenango China 10” Relish dishes features the Alexander Calder-inspired Mobile design by Paul Cook! According to some sources, this shadowy, black and grey pattern was much more uncommon than the other mobile-themed “Well of the Sea” pattern, as it wasn’t made for diners, but rather upscale restaurants. There are very few examples of this pattern for sale, and it is much more uncommon to find matching sets! These bowl set was made in 1959, as noted by the date code stamped on the bottom of the bowl.
