Description: For your consideration is a roughly century-old Shakespeare piece: "Shakespeare's Complete Poetical Works" from P.F. Collier and Son, 1925, 5.25" x 7.25". Collier printed many versions of this in 1925, this being one of the more desirable with India Paper, genuine leather and gold gilt on ALL edges. These leather editions were not hard-backed as most leather books are, and as such most have fallen apart. This one is still intact, however the cover does show some waviness and the edges have notable wear. Still one of the best leather ones I've seen. Internally this is in fantastic shape with the only markings being an inscription and a bookplate as shown. The nice thing about any old book printed with India paper is that it tends to stay bright, and there's no exception here. It has not brittled either. The pages are great, all 1,300+ of them. Also features a thumb index, which is very handy! With real, full leather and gold gilt, and 1,300 pages this was a very expensive book a hundred years ago. Great value now!
