Description: Carefully designed to carry your supplies in a professional, lightweight box, the mahogany stained and lacquered wood box has brass plated hardware giving this pochade box a wonderfully elegant look. The included universal tripod mount allows you to use the SoHo Scout with the adjustable SoHo Deluxe Tripod (sold separately) or similar quality tripods to sit or stand while painting. Protective rubber feet on the box bottom make it an equally excellent tabletop easel. The adjustable strap and leatherette handle make it easy to carry with you wherever you want to go. The sure-lock angle hinge ensures a comfortable working angle that won't change or move while painting. The patented brass substrate holding sliders are integrated into the top of the box, making it easily adjustable and extremely stable. Each slider is slotted to accommodate two 1/8" - ¼" (3mm to 6mm) panels without them touching. Additionally, the sliders will friction-hold stretched canvas up to 7/8" deep. The box will accommodate paintings up to 9x12" horizontally and 12" wide and 18" tall painting substrates. The integrated lid sliders hold substrate below your sightline, which allows an unobstructed view of your subject. The easel comes with two palettes - a varnished sliding wood palette that has a dual purpose of separating materials from the bottom storage compartment and a clear acrylic palette that allows you to put a grey sheet underneath for greater hue definition while outdoors. The fold-out wood tray creates additional working space to keep paints or solvents and six brush holes, provide a safe place for your brushes. It also features a small bottom impact plastic foot that keeps palettes in place while traveling. Finally, the bottom storage compartment accommodates paint tubes up to 75ml and is divided into two sections so you can store your brushes, palette knives, pencils, or other gear separately.
