Description: This is a electric damper motor produced by the Minneapolis Heat Regulator Co. I purchased it at my friend’s grandfather’s estate sale about 30 years ago. He had a half dozen of them for sale at the time. They all worked when removed. However, I am selling this as not functioning. These motors were extremely reliable back in that day and they didn’t really have to work very hard. The spring action oiling cover works fine. The control switch also works fine. I believe, but am not 100% sure, this motor was the very first electric motor that was UL Listed. I have searched off an on the last couple of years and have not seen a single one for sale. I have seen the newer version after the merger with the Honeywell logo on it. On the red/brass plate it reads: The “Minneapolis” Motor No. 24 Electric Motor Patented Nov. 30, 1915 - Jan. 11, 1916 Patents Pending MFRD. By Minneapolis Heat Regulator Co. Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A. On the embossed information panel, located right above the electrical wire it reads: No. 12GQMF? - Type A.C. - Amp. 1/3? - Volts 110 - Cycle 60 - Brush (C or G)? Some of the information is hard to read. The motor measures 8 3/4” x 4 1/2” & 6 1/2” high. It weighs 9 1/2 Lbs. NOTE: The Minneapolis Heat Regulator Company merged with the Honeywell Heating Specialties in 1927 to become the Minneapolis-Honeywell Heat Regulator Company.
