The rosemaling is done in lovely shades of a turquoise blue, traditional oranges and a buttery ivory with highlighting done in shades of brown on a stained background. The hinged lid opens and closes nicely and the inner part offers a place to store supplies lending function to aesthetics. If you look closely, you'll see the artist's signature, Colleen, is tucked into the lower edge of the design. There's also a penciled number in the upper left corner of the bottom of the box that seems to possibly be number that was assigned to this piece in the artist's records. It's very faint and difficult to read. Approximate dimensions are 13 1/2-inches in width x 12-inches from top to bottom and 4-inches in height at the highest point. As you can see in the photos, the combination of colors and attention to detail are both nicely done. This piece is previously owned with any imperfections being minor.
