Description: This unit works well overall. It had a bit of weak sound on the right side so I opened up the speaker compartment and have determined that the front base speaker has very weak output and I believe it’s blown. Also, the small tweeter has a tiny split in the cone however, it’s still seems to perform fine. I was going to change out the speakers myself and I actually opened up the compartment behind the speakers but then I was unable to find exact replacement speakers. The unit does power up just fine and record player functions as designed. It plays records well. There are some scuffs, scratches and nicks to the wooden cabinet. Also, the front plastic decorative cover has a small chip on the right. The good news, though I have the two little pieces that fell out of there and they can be glued back in. It can definitely be done but it’s a precision job. :-) I noticed the bottom cover is missing about four screws but the 2 there seems to hold it on fine. If you’re going to restore it, should be replaced. There’s a brittle gray plastic seal all the way around the opening where the top rests that has dried and is crumbly. I believe this used to be flexible rubber. This will need to be replaced. It is no longer pliable. I believe it’s in the last photo a close-up of the crumbling material. I did find some airtight door seal material that would work just fine right here on eBay. I was going to do it myself, but then I thought whoever buys this will want to change out those speakers on the right side and will need to remove the plate underneath where that molding will need to be… so I am leaving it as is. It does have some corner damage, mostly on the bottom corners and as shown in the photos. There are some scratches and I’ve done my best to show the worst areas. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this purchase. I’ve done my best to describe this item. Please let me know if there are any questions.
