True vintage Whiting & Davis is getting harder to find and I am always on the look out. This necklace is a true classic for Whiting & Davis. The gold tone mesh is the same as what is found on the older mesh purses. This is a vintage piece and it is not new. It has wear consistent with age. Although the gold is bright & shiny, there are some areas where it is a bit darker or possibly tarnished. I did not clean the necklace as I didn’t want to ruin it with harsh chemicals, so I am leaving that to you. Personally, I don’t think many Whiting & Davis lovers will care as they are familiar with the metal of the bags. I just don’t want something to think this is a new, pristine purse.
