Description: Here is a stunning vintage dress suitable for the holidays, a wedding, concert musicians, or formal events, etc. Color is liken to plum, cranberry, or garnet - it's the sort of color that is hard to pinpoint; photo #1 is the closest to the true color. Made of soft velvet that has a shimmery look, it features a triangle-shape empire bodice that is ruched at the bust, oversize shawl collar that layers over flutter short sleeves, and very slightly flared long skirt (at the bottom). It is made in the 1930s style that was popular in the 1970s. Back metal zipper closure with hook/eye at the top. Bottom was hand hemmed. Dry-clean only; no manufacturer tags in garment (fabric construction unknown). This dress is way better than photos show! Has a classic 1930s silhouette. VINTAGE size seven (7); vintage sizes run smaller than today. The following measurements are on the EXTERIOR of the dress: - Bust (armpit-to-armpit) on ONE SIDE is 16.5 inches (total 33 inches). Note that your measurements should be smaller in order for this item to fit properly. Also note that this dress is not a good choice for someone with large breasts. - Bodice/rib cage (just below triangle shape bodice line) is 13 inches on ONE SIDE (total 26 inches). Note that your measurements need to be smaller in order for this item to fit properly. - Sleeve length from shoulder to edge is 9 inches. - Dress length from shoulder to hem is 52 inches. The hem can be let down up to another inch. Thus, if you are a taller person, the dress might have a tea length look. - There is no stretch to this fabric. Best for someone with traditional or thin, classic silhouette. This is a used, pre-owned item. It has no holes, rips, fading, or stains. Appears hardly used, as if worn once. The underarms have very light fabric creasing from previous wear, as is typical to velvet - the underarms look clean, are intact, and do not appear stained or worn. The zipper works fine, sticks a little towards the top. Dress smells clean. Item is being sold from a smoke-free home that does have cats.
