Description: Here is a vintage handmade Infant Jesus of Prague Statue of cast reinforced chalk, hand painted and with copyright information on one side of the base: A.Prosperi, probably made in Italy in the 1950s. The two piece dress and red velvet cape with gold rope trim which comes with it was probably custom made for the statue at some time in the earlier part of its history. It stands aprox. 18” tall, including the 2” gold painted base and the large 3 1/4” removable crown. ***The Crown is especially fantastic. Appears to be Czech filigree brass set with colored rhinestones with tan velvet liner. The cream colored satin dress is decorated with fine lace and gold rope to match the cape with lace ruffled armholes. There are 2 light water stains,barely noticeable. The red velvet cape is edged in gold piping and has a gold cord tie attached to it. There are metal snaps on both the garments for better fit when dressing the statue. It is a solid piece casting and quite heavy. We grade the statue to be in almost FINE condition: with no breaks or repairs of any note;, there are very light random “dings” but they are small and negligible and easily touched up. A wonderful collectible and vintage dressed statuette of the Infant Jesus of Prague, suitable for home, school or small chapel use. Selling as is/no returns.
